High-Risk AI System

As defined by the EU AI Act, an AI system used in areas such as critical infrastructure, education, employment, law enforcement or migration that poses significant risks to health, safety or fundamental rights.

Under the EU AI Act, certain AI uses are labelled "high-risk" because mistakes could seriously harm people; like AI used in hiring, medical diagnosis or law enforcement. These face the strictest rules.
